Hello Traders!

This will be my last blog post of 2025 as we come to the closing weeks of the year with Christmas and New Years approaching so I wont be posting until Jan 2026.

Below, I will share with you what occurred prior to the creation of Meteor Trading this year, my usual backtesting progress, and what my plans are for next year.

Let’s take a look!

Backtesting Progression

We will get this out the way first.

I have completed another week of May 2023 with 6 new trades logged.

Here’s the stats with this new data:

  • 107 total trades
  • 45.79% strike rate
  • 104.70% return

AsofDec2025no3

Results measured in R (R = % gained)

I had 3 losses and 3 wins so a good jump in return and not much change in strike rate.

Looking Back on 2025

From Jan – April this year I was all over the place with my trading. I kept switching entry models and I always justified using other peoples backtesting data to excuse myself for trading it live.

“Oh they show that this entry model works and their data is amazing! I will just trade that then and there’s no need for me to go through the pain of backtesting.”

This was & is such a poor way of thinking and had a severe impact on my data, my mental, and my overall quality of life as a trader.

It’s also one of the reasons why I don’t want to share my entry model with you either.

This eventually led me to seek out another path where I worked for someone else from May – August.

I had a good time but I always felt the calling of trading especially in August so I left that work and came back to trading with a very clear plan in mind.

The first thing I did was really analyse everything I have experienced over my 3 years of trading to figure out what I vibe with and what entry model I could use.

I wrote it all out on a Google Doc and quickly tested it in hindsight on TradingView and it looked very promising.

I then spent a total of 24 hours in September gathering backtested data for this strategy and I also formed Meteor Trading.

Then, in late October, I started live trading to see how it would perform in a live market.

Everything was very good so I really put my foot down in November which led me to becoming a funded trader with FTMO.

And that’s pretty much 2025 in a very brief breakdown!

It seems the long break I had really was needed and is probably the reason why I am writing these blogs as a funded trader with 100+ backtested trades.

Plans/Goals for 2026

Simply:

  • 100 more backtested trades (finishing 2026 with 200+ trades logged)
  • Remain consistent with my trading throughout the year to get regular payouts from FTMO, no matter how big or small
  • Keep sharing my progress with you all via these blog posts!

I am really looking forward to next year and seeing where I am when I write 2026’s End of Year Review and I hope you are too!

Have a great Christmas and New Years, see you in 2026!
